1984 D LMC Strike Through "L" Missing From Liberty

Here is a fun one, I found this what I believe to be a strikethrough with the "L" missing from Liberty. What I don't see is the normal damage associated with a grease strikethrough, This one is very smooth. If one looks close, I believe you can make out the very tip of the L. Many of you may have seen a lot of these. I have never seen one so smooth when letters are missing.

My gut says grease... note you've lost part of the bottom of the Y as well... cool piece.
