1937 PCGS MS66. Pop 1024/290. Here’s my lowest graded Merc and a new arrival at that. Everyone has certain guidelines for their collection. One of mine is simple, I do not like coins where the toning significantly obscures the design elements on coins. This coin needed to be an exception to my rule for two reasons. The vibrant obverse toning is really cool and the coin has nice luster. When working to complete a toned set, you quickly come to understand which dates are tougher to find with nice color. The 1937 is one of those dates…so here we are. A special thanks to Josh for allowing this to go to a new home.

I pressed this dude into a type set a few years ago. It was white then. Today, it's changed.

Jefferson proofs can have amazing toning. Not boring like Jefferson DCAM proofs that all look the same.
