I like the nickel the best. The quarter is a bit better than just okay. I've never been an admirer of cloudiness in Proof coins, so the others are not my thing.

I have owned this one since the 1980s. It's still raw in the Capital Plastics holder and has not changed since I bought it. The story was a collector had five sets and made up this one from the best coins out of the five. I paid a premium for it back then. The nickel, dime and quarter have some claims to the cameo distinction, but probably not enough to get it. The half is nicely toned. The cent that was originally in the set was toned. I bought another one in full red, which cost $50 back then. I blew off the other cent.

The 1950 Proof set is harder to find nice than some people think. Many of the coins were made with a satin finish that was not unlike the 1936 Satin Finish cent and nickel. I once owned a 1950 half that was Proof, but you needed to know what a satin finish Proof looked like to not think that it might have been Mint State.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
