  • Howdy rhedden, yes I probably should have! I did make my first post purposefully vague on which one was mine for a reason but then I guess I got impatient

Hey everyone! I did send it in on a express reconsideration and low and behold it DID upgrade to a MS66+ now!

Congrats! Looks like a great coin!

Here's the Coronet and Wurt 67+ for comparison.

By the way, why did you choose Reconsideration (where the graders see the current grade as @DeplorableDan pointed out), versus Regrade, where the graders don’t see the current grade (other than the finalizer) and they guarantee the grade will not drop? This is really moot with the end result with your coin, since you got the Plus added on! I also agree with @DeplorableDan in that your coin will likely merit a CAC sticker

    Good point @winesteven!

What about going for a 67 or higher with Regrade?

Given the price difference, it could be worth it.

Hmmm, I honestly could see your coin in a 67 holder. That sure is a beauty!

Love this thread, and your coin is quite special. Great job on the grade bump!

Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

Agree from the photos. Others have mentioned the same so my thought is that a Regrade may be worthwhile.

I still think the coin is better than many others in 67 holders, but there’s a difference between between grading from pictures vs in hand. I originally advised to try a few times to get it in a 67 holder, but I assume op has no already paid the reconsideration GP, plus grading fees shipping and insurance, and I’m not sure if he wants to gamble any more.

I would love to buy that coin in a 66+cac holder but it would try my best to sell it as a 67, CAC or no CAC. In the wake of some recent developments on the TPG front, methinks things have tightened up a bit recently 😬

How are some of you determining the difference in luster via the original pics at the start of this thread ?
