RIP, Sal Bando

Sal Bando has passed away, the Oakland A's third baseman who was one of the key players on the great A's teams of the early 1970's. I got this autograph back in 1991.

    I am sorry to hear about this. He was a great player on a great team.

    As a Red Sox fan, I was no fan of that team because it was impossible for the Red Sox to beat them. I remember one time at work they put up a slide at the end of large group meeting that read "GO SOX!" before the American League Playoff Series. My reaction was "who cares" given the fact that the Sox lost to Oakland every year like clockwork.
