Walkthrough; not happy; Crossed a CAC NGC MS62 1868 $20 gold; asked for Truevue; did not get it.

https://www.pcgs.com/myaccount/order-details/23030338

I am kind of upset, I have sent emails to PCGS noting the failure, nothing in return. This coin is rather rare, now it is a POP 4/1 1868 $20 lib. I was happy with the CAC MS62 NGC but wanted Trueview and I could get CAC back since it crossed at the same grade. Nope - no trueview which I denoted on the submission and the nearly $600 grading fees because of the value of the coin. Here is the coin.
https://coins.ha.com/itm/liberty-double-eagles/double-eagles/1868-20-ms62-ngc-cac-pcgs-8953-/a/1329-5171.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515

PCGS seems to be completely unresponsive. I want to send the coin back and get trueview for free and get my registered return costs reimbursed. It was like $150 just to send the coin on over a $600 grading fee.

Anyone run into this? I use to be able to email/call HRH and it was taken care of now I don't know anyone.

Walkthrough is default gold shield. So far walk through is more than a week of business day.

Also, PCGS/PSA Customer Service is a bit backed up. Why not wait 1-2 weeks before calling?

I have not sent a coin in in years - I have however sent thousands of coins in. I use to be when grades posted you had the image on cert verification. I don't know I spent over $750 on a cross - I think I should have the image after 3 weeks.

The Heritage photo shows this coin to be a moose.

Love it. The TV is not all that important. Save your money and request a refund on the TV portion.

    Nice coin.

There appears to be a way to contact the TrueView department at the bottom of this page.
Never tried it myself, but it might get a faster response than the general e-mail address.

    Edited to add:
I just found this thread from MAR-2022.
    Highlights:
    ~ in Q1-2022, the delay between shipping and image upload was up to 30 business days;
~ there is a dedicated e-mail address for the TrueView department (i.e., photography@collectors.com).

The trueview is coming, just takes a while after you get the coin back. Seems like pcgs trueview’s everything nowadays, even when you don’t request or want that service. I specifically don’t want trueviews with my submissions making sure I select a service without the gold shield option, and they still all get them.

All non-modern coins with value >$2500 must receive trueview. It's not an option. What coins are you submitting and/or value declaring?

Hopefully your situation will get worked out.. or is in the works now. It's a great coin in any holder. Enjoy your purchase - don't let a temporary problem detract from the reason you made the original buy.

I remember seeing that coin and thought is was really nice, especially considering that under appreciated date. Nice purchase! Hope your TV comes through.

This is a fantastic coin, and congratulations! I clicked on the account link you posted), and it took me to my account (others have mentioned this too). I have had a recent PCGS submission, and the true views were not posted for 6-8 weeks. My last PCGS submission was within the year, and although it was expedited, the true views did not show up for almost two months. Let's hope that your TV will surface soon.....

Like the others have said, if it’s gold shield, the True View is coming.

This past year I’ve seen it be two months after the coin was in hand, or sometimes it’s in before the coin gets back, there’s no rhyme or reason.

Looks like you have plenty of support options. Everyone is backed up due to pent up demand at least partly from being locked down. I know it can be frustrating, but cooler heads will ultimately prevail.

Reach out to the TV department, as I'm sure they have record if it was imaged. If not they should do as someone else mentioned, send you a free label to return it to correct their error.

Good luck, I'm sure it will be resolved! Just give it time. I know patience is hard when expectations aren't met.

Had it been in a fattie I'd agree but there were many years between the fatties and the prong holders that started around 2010.

The coin imaged is a modern holder from 2000 to 2010 or thereabouts.

I had a recent order where I had the coins back before the TV showed up. I am sure it will show up eventually.

(a few weeks back I posted a new 1919 DDO merc had been graded, it took over a week before the TV showed up)

Edited to add: It was 14 days between my post of the coin being graded and the TV showing up.

I believe he thinks your coin is a Moose. I Agree!

A Moose in coin terms is very good. Very few coins are referred to as a Moose. You should be proud. Awesome coin and I believe you will receive your Truview. Just not sure how soon. Congrats on an awesome coin!

Processing takes time, especially when you've got 4,000 images a day to crop and resize.

I think you are upsetting yourself for little to no reason (mostly no reason). You will get the TrueView. You just need to hang tight as others have stated. You did not get ripped off. PCGS did not fail to provide the service you requested. I look forward to seeing the TV when it pops. And, congratulations on owning such a great coin.

This is the new normal for 2022 and on.................You get your grades, but the TrueView image lags behind for days or even weeks. Today's submitter must be patient when it comes to the grading process. Look at it this way, I'd rather know my grade before I see the TrueView.

Trueviews have been lagging shipment by a couple weeks or so. Your order says being imaged so I see no reason to doubt that.

PCGS at one point advertised for editors here on the forums - it was a strict requirement that you had to be in California. I believe several members requested to do the work remotely, and all were denied.

got the coin back - of course I was in the shower. I left a note for the FedEx guy - he did what he was not suppose to do and only because I know him and we live in a gated property. I talked to him the next day and he said he can't do that but because he knows me - This is why you are always nice and do special things for people. The coin is actually a moose. I really had not looked at it for years. The coin is a PL and the only reason reason it is not a gem is because some ahole cleaned it so it has hair lines. Probably border line a details but o'h so nice; NGC, PCGS and CAC agree at 62. First impression is it is a 66; it is a cleaned coin but not bad enough Anyway it spent less than 24 hours here and back to CAC

It is a fantastic coin, no doubt about that. And I wouldn't blink seeing it in a 63 holder. But there are contact marks right on the focal point of Liberty. My first impression is overwhelmingly positive but NOT 66.
