I voted authentic, unaltered -- thinking that this was a pattern -- and a nice example of it. Reminded me of the Bass collection...

I thought something looked amiss. Never seen the star and the date, while I didn't know off hand what, I sensed something wasn't quite right. I also thought it looked far too pristine for the date and series generally speaking.

Good to know that I was able to detect something was off enough to be hesitant. I'm learning 😉

Great educational thread for us newer people especially to test our knowledge and instinct.

ya, the seated series is a tough one to be sure. all those dates/mm, design/weight changes etc. to be a master of that series is to really something.

i do like the designs that are nearest the working examples to see if i can sniff out subtle differences. a little tougher to do digitally but still a good exercise.

it is doubtful there is a time in all my numis experience when i delved into patterns and didn't come away feeling inspired.
