    Looks to me like either grease filled or struck through, followed by commerce wear. If seen new, the cause would likely be obvious, but wear has blurred the evidence. Cheers, RickO

    survey says,

    strike through or pmd but since i see strike throughs on these SO in frequently, especially big ones, i'll go with pmd from those images.

    this didn't really help me differentiate. perhaps someone else seeing a lil clearer now.

    That was most likely a pocket piece that someone modified a long time ago.
