This is a quick report on the Clifton New Jersey show. Once upon a time this was a great little show featuring mostly world coins and over the past year under new ownership it’s radically changed.

Newest change is the location moving from Main Street of the city to what one collector described to me as the wrong side of the tracks. (I’m not from the area so I’m not judging just reporting)

It’s actually now in a sort of industrial area not sketchy just sort of isolated…. Anyway the inside is huge with really great potential and space for 50 plus dealers. Thats definitely a big improvement over the old location! :)

There is armed security guard a plus (especially nowadays)

There is a food station also a plus (nice to be able to grab a cup of coffee...etc.)

So what’s lacking…. Well they definitely need more dealers. Seems like a bunch of old faces simply didn’t make the move.

In the new space the dealers that were there seemed lost in such a big space

The parking outside is also a little strange... plenty of parking you just have to walk a bit...
Hopefully Andy the promoter can grow the show into something as shows on third weekend do not really exist in the NY NJ area

On a positive note we did pick up a few lower priced coins and tokens. Stuff like this

Nothing that will be on our website but they will be included in our upcoming WhatNot auctions

Have a great week. If you have an hour to kill on the third Sunday and find yourself in NJ check it out. I do believe in supporting all shows otherwise they will disappear. IMHO... love to hear your thoughts....

Jon: looks like a considerable improvement over the dark cramped space that was used before now. The show seems to attract bullion dealers and collectors who have morgan dollars and silver to sell. I would agree that a dozen dealers with slabbed collector coins would make this a vibrant little show.

Thanks for the report and the picture. There is definitely room to grow there. I hope it will get good promotion in the future. Cheers, RickO
