Why are you tempting me with Large Cent Patterns? I have my eye on a J-161 NGC PF58. No woodgrain but a nice look and fits my budget.
Love the 1855 pattern eagle
Something real special about those patterns 1855-58
Had a PR-64 j-206 I sold a year ago and have missed it ever since
haha. i'm sharing the pain/joy.
had have patterns on the brain hardcore the last year or so and after delving deeper down into them i am simply compelled to share a few of them yet simultaneously using EVERY single ounce of strength not to make 20-30 threads on various topics about them and for them!
Love them.

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.....Mark Twain
Nice examples.... Not a type that interests me, but many collectors favor wood grain coins. Cheers, RickO
@LanceNewmanOCC ,Love those pattern cents! Looking to put together a collection of them myself. Do you have more to share? Would really like to see a post on them.
the disclosure is these are not mine. they are in the ANS collection and yes, there are a BUUUUUUNCH more. a lot of the patterns i looked at, they have decent size runs of them. not a lot of woodies though from what i saw.
they have a very nice run of gobrechts. (some other VERY rare ones and possible a couple/few unique ones)
it can be kind of funny/ironic to view a big run of the patterns as you can see how they were mixing and matching trying to find that JUST right balance of all the factors they had to consider.
Very cool examples. 👍
