2009 Coin Grading Company?
Hi guys,
I remember, way back in 2009, when the transition cent came out. This New Grading Company came out.
"Michigan Masters Numismatic Services"
Does anyone else remember these and/or are familiar with?
Probably another defunct business, I suspect?
These particular holders, were given away at a Illinois Coin Show. Representing the 50th Anniversary for the
"Illinois Numismatic Association".

I don't remember that one. I guess they didn't produce very many slabs before they went out of business.

Never heard of them.
I have one of those slabs (MMNS) I picked up many years ago.
1913-S type 2 Buffalo Nickel. It was at a local coin show.
Haven't see a second example since.

Conder101 had a write-up on them. They are listed in David's Sample Slab book. @JoeyCoins if you flip me some better photos, I can add them to the database. MNS-001-1-2
They were around for a couple of years, then moved to Florida and sort of kept the MMNS name. They tried introducing a slab that showed the edge (like the old flashlight reflector trick).
They had good intentions, but ... not enough legs to crack the glass ceiling.

Is this slab yours?

Yes, both.

They used to set up at local Detroit area shows. I never got the impression that their slabs/service gained much support.
I doubt it, very much.

MMNS was recently discussed regarding an unusual labeled EBay posted item. Other info on them was added. Peace Roy

I remember them coming to the Baltimore Show way back when and they had a Sample slab that showed the edge of a coin almost like the "flash-light" trick and asked if I could get one and gave my name and address but "Never" received one, guess they went belly-up before they were able to produce them.
