What's with all the 1919 Lincolns on ebay?

No mint mark $2000 , $900, $860 etc.
Some kind of scam or something?
I have a 1919 Lincoln no mint mark and I don't think it's worth more than 25c.
Nice way to bring collectors into the scene.
Unless I'm missing something here.

Blame Youtube.
Since the mint started putting the P on coins in '68 (?) people today think they have something rare and an error if it doesn't have a mint mark. No, you're not missing anything.

You’re not missing anything, believe it or not some people pay 10-13$ for a roll of 1983 zinc cents on eBay as well.

Great Southern has a 1919 "O" . Very rare. Current bid: $9.95 as of 1/8/23
I have two 1919 cents on my shelf next to my computer... one I got in change a couple of months ago, and another I found in an old roll of wheat cents. Cheers, RickO
I am not sure but I've also noticed an influx of "no mint mark" coins on eBay with stupid prices on them.
Collector, occasional seller
1919 cents are very common. They make for a great promotional hype item.
I saw some of these too, I just don't get it.
Re 1919 cents being common -- when I was a kid back in the 60s, someone must have turned a solid roll or two of 1919-S cents in to the bank. Suddenly one day our school cafeteria was awash in 1919-S cents (nothing else remotely old). I snagged 6 but my brother got the best one, a solid XF.
60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
I'm guessing someone posted or spoke about Blay's 1919 Lincoln on social media and of course everyone now assumes they are uber valuable.
