Hi guys,
Yep, I finally accomplished what really needed to be done.
"Knee Replacement" surgery.
Constant knee problems. Bone-on-bone
x-rays. Cortisone/Jel was just not cutting it anymore. Sorry for the explicit details. Don't get old! lol
This procedure hopefully, will eliminate my pain walking and working?
So, this is the reason I'll be doing MORE than ever CRHunting. 3 months laid up. I already stocked up before my appointment with rolls and rolls.
Mostly, Nickels and Cents!
Thanks guys

Let's GO...

@joeykoins... Best of luck and I hope your recovery is swift and without complications. The people I know who have had this done, have been very pleased with the results. Three months recovery? You will need the banks to deliver coin boxes... maybe get Uber involved. ;) I hope you find several treasures. Cheers, RickO

Get well soon. No heavy lifting, remember a box of quarters weighs just over 25 lbs.

Yeah, about receiving more future boxes/rolls. I have my wife to help.
Besides, they want me to be agile and sort of flexing. So, it won't be too long before I can at least drive. The UBER idea is good but risky.
    Thanks yall.

The therapists will want you to keep your knee in motion so expect many such exercises to be dictated. Just don't be carrying any of those heavy coin boxes around while you do the exercises!

It takes some time to be 100 percent. Just keep doing the prescribed exercises and stretches. My elbow still is not 100 percent. Working it by stretching and some light weights.

Don't over do it. Get well soon.

Wow, wish you well on that. Some have not been so fortunate (like my mother!!), and if a lot is asked there is a tendency to failure or less than optimal results. But here are positive thoughts to a good outcome...

Just got through with my first physical therapy at the hospital.
WOW! They really push you. Amazing in just 24 hrs. what the leg can still tolerate.
The therapist was a little surprised himself how well I did. Good sign to a speedy recovery. Looks like I'll be flying back to all my banks in no time.

OUCH. So that's what I have to look forward to within the next year when I get a double knee replacement. Best of luck! I hope the rehab and therapy goes well and hope even more that the surgery works. Bone on bone knees are no fun.

    Joey,
I have spent a week b4 Christmas and another week this month with my sister, Sherry, who had knee replacement on 1st of Dec 22. She was released to drive yesterday and can do most things now for herself. She drove around town yesterday to be sure she could maintain brake pressure and be mobile enough to go from accelerator to brake pedal as needed.
About 4 weeks after surgery, the pain became tolerable without scripts and only advil. She goes to PT 3 days a week and that is the key to prompt recovery, my opinion.
Sherry says hang in there and do your exercises as your Dr. advises and we wish you all the best.

I had my left knee replaced at the end of September. If you follow the doctors and therapists orders, your recovery will be amazingly swift.
You are already thru the worst part of the recovery in the first 10-14 days. Hard to sleep, pain meds don't really work that well, on a walker, and swelling is your worst enemy. Glad to see you have the type of dressing that you can shower in - some surgeons don't use that.
Since my left knee was done, I was driving at the end of three weeks and threw the cane away a few days later. Never looked back.
Today, my knee feels like it did in my 30's - perfect. The only thing I struggle a little with is kneeling - bought a good set of knee pads that make it tolerable.

Joey: by looking at the x-ray it looks like you got the "Better" lower part put in, most only have the "Shorter" pin in them. Wishing you a Quick Recovery, Keep up with the therapy, it helps you to get back at it. Can't wait to see if you find any Keepers.
