Struck Thru and PMD.
Curios to where the pmd is? Could it be Lamination?
Isn't the bit along the edge retained?
What do you mean or referring to?
Here?
Yes, there. From your photos it looks to me that whatever was struck through, stayed in that area (struck in).
Thats what I was thinking. If its a Struck Through that would have to be left over object still attached.
most likely that piece at k2 is just defective flan lamination error. quite coincidental to have either 2 or 1 large struck-through piece right at the ends of it.
since there is more defective flan at k8, i'd strongly lean towards k2 being the same thing.
from the images, it just doesn't look like struck-through retained.

The coin is too badly damaged to make any call.
The indent at the head does look like a struck through, but the 'freshness' of the indented metal confuses me, since it would signify a more recent damage. Cheers, RickO
just offering my 2c.
i re-read my post and it seemed like i was saying that it isn't struck-through also, which i am not saying.
like ricko said, the metal does look too fresh from those images to also be a strike through but just for my part i'm not saying 100% one way or the other.
an error expert offered his opinion but i really think it needs re-worded and to be not quite so concise to help the rest of us FULLY understand what is going on with this coin to the best of our ability.
if you get a chance to improve your image quality, it would really help us to help you.
