Yeah that would be pretty cool... B)

This is an element of our hobby that I think had more impact than people realize, especially on young collectors. Whatever happened to RC Cola cans, Slurpee cups, Hostess cards, Post Cereal cards, Wonder Bread cards, Sunoco stamps, etc? At some point the licensing costs must have become too much, because it had to help sales. All I know is some of my best hobby memories come from these products and it would be cool to have them back. Of course we'd have to then deal with this in the Ho-Ho aisle:

Buddy, I couldn't agree with you more. I was so engaged with the 1962 Post Cereal cards during my childhood. A few years later, I went bonkers over the 1971 Kellogg's 3-Ds! As I entered the burgeoning adult card market, my desire for the immediate post-war regional / food issues truly intensified. They were frustrating because many collectors wanted them. For the most part, the supply was minuscule, and could not come close to meeting the demand for them.

Eventually, when I could not afford them anymore, I wrote a book about these issues, entitled NEVER CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN. Tom Bartsch, then editor of Sports Collectors Digest, helped me throughout. We couldn't get it published in paper form, so we chose the E-book on a CD format, using the same firm Krause Publications used to put their massive Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards on a CD.

It came in at 479 pages, reads easily on a person's personal computer, providing they have a disk drive. If, IF you're interested in looking into it, Google Never Cheaper By the Dozen, and you'll find SCD's press release from 2016. Rich Mueller separately reprinted Chapters 1 and 8 on SPORTS COLLECTORS DAILY. There's chapters on Post Cereal cards, and Kellogg's 3-D, among many others.

It's by no means just about cards I own, though I am pleased I still own a few of them. A book on this subject was nonexistent--- so I wrote one!

I'd like to see less products. There are too many each year now imo. It was really easy to keep up when just one set was made each year.

The problem with bringing these back is theft and damage control. I went to Walmart with my son and we were looking for the Pokemon cards in cereal. The problem was so many of the boxes were opened and most likely the cards stolen. I don't remember it being that bad when I was a kid.
