It's all about what the people want...
This is a long shot, but I am looking to buy some silver granules/flakes/shots like in the first picture made way back in 1968 when you could turn in silver certificates for actual silver. I have a broken lucite piece I'm repairing similar to the second picture and it is missing silver. I'd rather not refill it with modern silver shot since it looks a lot different (even toned) compared to silver from the good ole' days. Will to buy anywhere from 1 to 20 ounces or so but I'm flexible.
