Your set must have a couple of gold coins in it. I have a set of 1937 coins, farthing to the crown but my set isn't proof. Bet this set is real nice but a little too much for me after what I spent in 2022.

These coins were sold in two sets, the non-gold and the gold set. I think the gold set, which was four pieces, was sold separately because U.S. citizens were not allowed to buy it because of Gold Surrender Act. There were no gold coins in sets like this, unlike the “short early 1900s Edward VIII set.”

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
