edit- I was suggesting new features for the “search” function, but I did not realize they had already been developed within the forum. My mistake, thank you guys!

One workaround is to search on google with a term like “loupe collectors universe”

This is what I got doing that.
Is this the thread you wanted?

You’re right, it worked! I found the thread I was looking for. I guess I’ll just do this for now one, although I still think filters would be helpful.

If you do a search for "loupe", this is what you get:

Click on the arrow, and you get these options for filtering:

Ahhh ok, thank you. I always use the forum on my phone and i didn’t notice the arrow. Seems to have everything I suggested lol. However, even using the filters when searching the word “loupe” and setting it to “within 6 months” of “today”, it doesn’t bring up the thread from November that I was looking for, which has “loupe” in the title. Not sure why it doesn’t want to show that particular thread

It works well to narrow things down if you know who the author is or what category the thread was posted in but I haven't been able to figure out exactly how the time filter works either.

fwiw, if you type loupe into the Title field, with no restrictions on date, although i do use that field from time-to-time, the thread in question is the 6th one down the list. fwiw

the only thing i currently have against the advanced search is the lack of sorting by most recent and or perhaps a couple more variations of searchable dates.

it'd be nice if the basic quick search returned queries chronologically as well. imo

glad it works as well as it does though.

Google will turn up most recent threads.... I usually use that first before the forum search. Cheers, RickO

I may have mentioned this previously, but my neighbor told me she deleted Google from her husbands computer. I asked her why she did that?

She told me he doesn’t need Google, because he knows everything! 😂
