Ridiculously nice 1860-c $5 NGC AU55 CAC fs @ Heritage

This is a super coin with very nice original surfaces (and obviously CAC agrees, and in my humble opinion they are tough on gold).
The third lowest mintage of all Charlotte half eagles. It's very similar in striking (on the reverse) to the 1859 half eagles due to improperly annealed dies. Despite the weak strike (that all 60-c $5's have) the lines in the hair are nearly fully delineated, and the design elements are well detailed for the issue. The surfaces are not scuffy like so many in this grade, and the remaining luster is strong for an original coin. This is a piece that is sure to please, and thank you for taking a look!

Why did they put this auction in one of their Tuesday auctions and not one of the marquee auctions? Solid coin and not the most common Charlotte coin... Interesting..
TTT. @Relaxn it was at my request that it go into the weekly auction.
