Flying Eagle Cent in an old Stack's flip

I have released this Uncirculated Flying Eagle from its plastic cage where it had been since 1986. There's a coating of something on the surface. What could I soak it in without doing harm?
Thanks.

Acetone
I agree with acetone... Will not harm the metal, but it will remove organic residues. Cheers, RickO
nice cent.
Auction houses often use soft flips for coins due to the handling the coins get during in person inspection before the sale. Anybody who has coins in old auction holders should carefully examine them and replace any holders which appear to present the possibility of PVC damage to the enclosed coins.
