That's amazing and awesome!
But 1 hour is kind of intimidating. Is there a transcribed version to scan?
I found the interview to be interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Im about 40 minutes into it but my planes about to land so I might not finish it. The vast majority of the interview is pertaining to Stewart Blay's Collection. Ian gives his feedback (very positive) of the collection and even says he had originally recommended that Stewart Re-Grade everything. Ian thinks that there are many upgrades in that collection, but he says that Stewart was confident that the quality of the coins would speak for themself when they were auctioned.
Ian and John touched on some other smaller subjects, regarding repeat business for Coin Dealers and attitudes around how that should go. They touched on the general health of the market as a whole. Ian is optimistic, and states that he believes that quality coins are going to be seldom available. He thinks collectors are holding on longer and talks about some coins he placed that will likely not be on the market again for Decades. He also believes that there are many new collectors coming from other markets that percieve coins to be a good value.
Now they're talking about CAC Grading, Ian is optimistic and talks about how its a lot of work for JA to take on but he has 100% confidence, ergo his investment into it. about to de board now, that's the best I could do lol

I think a few CEO's from big US companies could benefit hearing what Ian says about customer service...Just saying...
WS
Agree wholeheartedly. I’d add that a lot of CEO’s of small companies could benefit even more so.

@spacehayduke... Thanks for the link... will listen in pieces, got to work today. Cheers, RickO
As one major dealer said, that's a huge machine to be in charge of! I'm curious on why Teletrade couldn't be revamped as that was the prior company that Ian worked at?
Teletrade was part of a bigger group (Spectrum Group) that had several different companies in coins. Teletrade worked, so it's always more difficult to make bigger decisions for a company that wasn't broken. Plus, starting something from scratch that I owned was appealing.

TeleTrade was amazing at the time.
GreatCollections is amazing today.
Congrats and thanks for both!
Well worth the time to watch/listen.
Thanks, so much for posting this! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to John and Ian's questions and answers. I particularly enjoyed hearing their thoughts on The Stewart Blay Collection and on Stewart, himself, as a collector. I, ALSO, was intrigued by their thoughts on the current state of the market and their forecast for the future. One of the best interviews I've seen, recently.
