Forrest Fenn Treasure sale on Heritage Auctions

Many of the coins sold for twice what they would have without the pedigree. Compared to other hoards and treasures, was this to be expected? For example the Saddle Ridge Hoard where many of the coins had a distinctive look and the shipwreck hoards, largely $20 Liberties?

I did not expect to see the prices that were realized. I wonder if they’ll maintain that premium in the secondary market.

The 'pedigree' is only worth something extra to certain collectors. I would not pay any premium just because of where it came from. Cheers, RickO
