gtg on $5 Liberty

I'm giving serious thought to purchasing this piece, mostly because I love the color, which honestly doesn't show up that well and is richer and more vibrant in hand. Any opinions on grade or otherwise?

Beautiful. Color is very appealing to my eye. I'll say 64.

The field in front of the nose is distracting. Otherwise a nice coin. I'd say 64....but I'm far from an expert on gold.

I’ll go with 64. There scuffs on the reverse at the A in America keep me from saying 65.

Is it scuffs or a planchet error? If it is scuffs I could see it being downgraded to a 64, After I looked at price guide I can see this is a tough issue to make into a 65 holder

Planchet flaw. And yes, it is a tough coin in the grades discussed here, with a single coin at the top grade at pcgs of 65+, though there are many more in ngc holders.

Excellent guesses and thank you all. It is in a 64+ holder. The reverse planchet flaw does not bother me at all (hardly noticed it) but the mark in front of the face is a bit distracting. Still, the color is really nice, and I was hoping that I didn't miss anything on that front. I'm going to try to get it. There just don't appear to be that many nicer ones. CAC has beaned 89 at the 64 grade and 0 above 64.

In that case, I really like it in a 64+ holder, super clean cheek compared to some other 64s. Good luck!

Now that's some color!
I think they bumped it to MS65.

64, possibly with a +.
Edited to add, glad to see I finally got one right now that I read the other posts.
64, maybe with a + for the strong color/eye appeal.

My initial guess was 65+.

My thoughts were 64 but I can see it as a 4+ also.

me too.....
The coin is nice but that mark in the field on the obverse is a significant distraction. Maybe it's not as obvious under different lighting but it held me back from going 64.
I was at 64.
64 was my guess, and scrolling down, the reveal confirmed it. A nice gold coin, but the mark in front of her nose is distracting... Maybe not so much in hand. Cheers, RickO

64-65.
I would not buy a common date coin based only on a TrueView.
The mark in front of the face would keep me from buying that one in that grade. Love the color though.
