Using coin descriptions in an AI image generator

I also posted this topic on Instagram, but thought it would be fun to post it here too. These AI programs are fun to generate images with, but they appear to be pretty dumb when you ask for an image of a lustrous $20 St. Gaudens gold piece or a folder of Lincoln cents. See the pics for what it 'believes' are those coins I mentioned above. I used DALL-E, one of the more popular AI image generators. Still a lot of fun to mess with, especially if you want to create your own artwork. The last image is of an AI version of a Tahitian sunset with a sailboat. I think it's pretty stunning.

To be fair, the designs the AI came up with for the St. Gaudens description do look like something Augustus could have designed

It’ll happen before I die, for sure. Even if it’s just for screening or QC purposes.

Thirty years ago had a paper on AI and it was mostly theoretical at that time.
To be honest, all this news circulating about about it now is a lot of hype and still has pretty much a long way to go before being perfected.
