Penny without a date

This penny definitely has struck through grease written all over it but the curious thing is when. I can't find a date even through the grease mark. The reverse tells me the period it's from but the original year is a mystery. Can anyone see a date? I might just be missing it.

    I see no date, and it is also severely damaged... The Lincoln image is quite distorted... Cheers, RickO

    This looks like a 90's to early 2000's cent to me. It also looks like a grease(or something) filled die. The other letters are weak too, if they were removed after striking we would see the zinc core in those areas.

    If someone wants to spend the time starting with a BU cent.
    Remove the date copper electro plate and would make for a shiny cent with no date.

    Possible die adjustment strike but more likely die fill

    @Mydiscussionboard
    Interesting
    I would weigh it to make sure it's the correct weight.
    Based on my limited knowledge and research, looks like a grease filled die.
    But.........the real experts will weigh in here @ErrorsOnCoins ?
