Jimmy Garoppolo out for the rest of the season

doubledragondoubledragon Posts: 23,269 ✭✭✭✭✭

Jimmy G is out for the rest of the season with a broken foot, I feel bad for the guy and the team, he suffered a broken foot in yesterday's game. What do you think the Niners chances are now, they still have a great defense.

I guess everyone knows that Baker Mayfield asked for a release from the Panthers. There's a nasty little rumor going around that Baker Mayfield wanted out of Carolina because he might be gunning for that 49ers job.

The back up 49er QB didn't do too bad...just saying.

    .....
    I didn't see it.

Do you think...does anyone think...that the 49ers see themselves as contenders and might just take a shot on Mayfield?...If they can make it a successful union, we just might see him back living in a stadium again (in commercials)

Brock Purdy did a good job as backup, and Mayfield now goes on waivers, and the 49ers are 24th on the waiver order, so it's a long shot, but still a nasty and frightening rumor.

Purdy is actually the 3rd string QB behind Jimmy G.
I’d rather have 10 Purdys than one Mayfield. He’s proven he’s not a winner in this league

basically this parts the Red Sea for Philly, and the only team standing in their way is..........and i can't believe i'm about the say this..........the Cowboys

i thought the Eagles were fraudulent when they fooled around and almost lost to the Colts, then turned around and lost to Washington, but yesterday against the Titans they had the look of a championship team

for the longest time i wasn't sold on Hurts, but yesterday i could have sworn he had 'MVP' tattooed on his forehead

but the 64k question is, will a deep Philly run and possibly another ring be enough to bring stevek out of hibernation ?

you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet

    Neither, I prefer Russell Wilson.

Hey, speaking of Russell Wilson, you'll love this video of him, I've watched it at least 10 times!

I don't know about "injury prone" but he seems to have pretty bad luck, that was a freak accident yesterday. Thinking about it and watching replays it came very, very close to being a Joe Theisman type injury. About another half-foot up and I don't even want to think about it. I think the 49ers are sort of jinxed with the latest QB injury on top of Trey Lance. How much can one franchise endure in a single season.

As for Mayfield, how is it that along with Russell Wilson he has fallen so far in a single season??

Injuries were the main reasons why Belichick let Garoppolo go. It’s too bad his season is over, but maybe he will sign with a team that has a coach who appreciates him. The San Francisco coach doesn’t.

It's a shame, I really wanted to see this team make a run, you can see the injury in this photo, his left foot, a bit higher up and it could have been a Theismann type injury.

I feel so sick for Jimmy G. I am a fan of his. Just wish he could stay healthy for a long stretch. The game just isn't fair to some guys when it comes to injuries.

If the Niners take Mayfield, I am out until he is no longer with the Niners. Mr. G is kinda screwed, he was having a great season with Trey Lance due back next year. Niners will probably not renew him now as he won't have a full season of success to hold back their desire to go younger.

Go with Purdy SF for rest of season, please do not bring the Mayfield plague on us all.

I mean call it whatever you want, he just can't stay on the field.

It's not a disrespectful jab against him, it's definitely not his fault but it is what it is.

I don't hate SF, their D is absolutely legit, they got the pieces on offense that isn't 100% dependent on the QB, I'd give this kid Purdy? a chance, As far as Mayfield goes IDK, they might need to bring him in, they definitely need another QB

    Who else is out there?

    Maybe Fitzmagic? Phillip Rivers??

I really believe SF can still make a strong run at it even without Jimmy G

Personally, I'm going to miss Baker Mayfield, we had some great times in Carolina. Here's to you, jolly old chap.

Garropalo goes down but yet SF still wins easily - Tell Baker to stay away!

Jimmy G is soft is practically canon at this point, I say with only slight hyperbole.
