1955 wheat penny

I have a 1955s wheat penny. It has the A missing in the word America. I thought this was unique.

    Actually the M is mostly missing - a bit of a grease filled die

    Is there something going on at the date and mint mark, though?

    I do believe there's a little Doubling on the date and mint mark.

    If you don't have this pick up point it is probably minor.

    Consult variety vista for other possibilities

    @Bamaphil .... The missing M is due to a grease filled die it seems.... Possible machine doubling on the date. Cannot see anything on the MM in that picture. Cheers, RickO

    If struck through grease filled die wouldn't the grease start a tonning process ?
