Okay so I know that there has been hundreds of these put on here and I might be just another one of them. But I will have to see for the heck of it. It has some damage and it isn't a ms 68 it is copperit is a 1982 small date and it seems to have a raised mint mark. My question is it looks to be a D over S. One do you think this could be?

No mint mark.
It is just damaged, there is no mintmark actually there, so it would be a "P" Mint from Philly.
Literally billions of these were made.
What can be learned by weighing a damaged coin?
Small date copper from Philly. Mint tolerance for copper cents are 2.98 grams to 3.24 grams so your coin falls within that range and is not an error. The 1982-d copper small date is the rare one
@simpsondanny46.... Welcome aboard. Definitely no mint mark, it is a Philadelphia cent. Cheers, RickO
What Ricko and others said. And I wish you luck. It's elusive as EVERY rarity.
