Ik Antique malls aren’t the place to shop for coins but…

I found these two, and I got them for $50 combined. I believe I overpaid but I’m happy nonetheless.
The Buff graded MS-65
The Jefferson is ungraded, but I believe it’d grade at MS-63

If you like them and want to keep them for your collection you did great!
I wouldn't say that you overpaid for those, that was fair retail price. As you said, if you're happy, that's what's important.

Years ago, I was driving through Ohio with my wife.....There were antique stores galore along the road.....STOP!....STOP!...STOP!....I got so tired of it but what could I do?......Anyway, late in the afternoon we had to STOP! for another antique shop.....I went inside.......Well?,......There were two Whitman folders surrounded by a bunch of junk....One was a complete Roosevelt dime collection and the other was a Mercury Dime set with everything except the 1916-D....Many coins in high grade!.....I don't remember the price but I KNOW they were both priced below melt!.....I couldn't believe it!....I bought them!......You never know.....
Check that Buffalo for a repunched mintmark. Could just be the photo, but it looks like something going on west of the D

Nice looking Buff nickel.... Are the two marks in his hair/feathers on the slab?? Looks like they are. Cheers, RickO
Nice coin.
The 1938d is like perfection to me....
Compare the strike on the Bison's coat to other coins.
You will start to see differences in strike quality between 1920's and mint to mint.
Find a well struck coin in a year/mint not known for good strikes and you have a nice cherry.
