Thought they never went to college?
I remember USF being pretty good in the 70s. They would score a zillion points per game.
The Quinten Dailey years. He was with the Bulls when they drafted MJ.
Seems somehow appropriate. Lol
Lyle Alzado was a maniac of a player, both for the Broncos and later for the Raiders. He was also a heavy user of steroids to build up his muscle mass (the steroids contributed to his craziness both on and off the field). He retired from football and continued to bulk up and use steroids. If I recall, in his earlier 40's he attempted a comeback into the NFL and was even more roided out. I do not recall if he made it onto an NFL roster but I remember his comeback efforts being covered by the sports media.
He died in his late 40's or early 50's, likely due to the damage done to his body by his use of steroids (and likely other substances).
When he played for the Broncos there were news stories about him, including his days as a college player at Yankton College. His exploits on and off the field during college were similar to those he had as an NFL player.
it was called Texas A&I back then
Darrell Green went there too
(the U i graduated from was in the same conference at the time)
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Where is LarryAllen?
Larry Allen began his college football career at Butte Junior College in Oroville, Calif. before transferring to Sonoma State, a Division II school near San Francisco.
Also Fred Dean went Louisiana Tech
Hard to be from "small-time colleges" if you never went to college at all.
