When Certain Coins Jump Out At You!

Most every 2000-P Sacagawea dollar I've seen in circulation look like these.
It's when one of these jumps out at you and catches your eye. Not worth grading but a keeper just for the eye appeal.
EDIT: She has a rim hit but I think I'll add her to my 7070. She better then the one I have in there now.

i've seen a LOT of coins roll searching it just plain pains me to put back into the wild BUT knowing there are 9,999,999,999,999,999 more of them out there really does help the pain to slowly reside...
Pretty indeed. 👍

These "golden dollars" do not age well at all. I received some in change once in New Orleans and almost didn't dare touch them. Yuck.
Oh, yes!! Thanks for mentioning that. That's one of the reasons for searching these, in addition to the Cheerios dollar............................which will most likely never happen! 😉 🥲

Agreed! I see some of the guys over on the Coin Roll Hunting thread and some of the coins they're pulling and apparently keeping from circulation. I could never afford to do that.

And ofcourse the AI $ are something I religiously collected 2 of each, all the way to current. I really do labor under some interesting misconceptions. Most all of mine are in great condition, ofcourse 😀
I buy something that is really a good deal, like the WW2 privy ase and I get spots from the mint. Collect a series that nobody wants, I’ll get 70’s most every time 😂

Yes, with the leasr bit of handling, most shortly turn hideous. I believe the USM needs to try a differnt metal composition or just forget about these white elephants.
At this point we might as well discontinue the dollar coin. A 2019 GAO report found that replacing the dollar bill with a dollar coin would cost MORE now because dollar bills last longer due to different processing techniques and the fact that cash is used less. Not only that, the push for electric vehicles will lead to more and more copper being needed in other industries and there may be a shortage of copper within the next decade. Not producing dollar coins (and even clad half dollars) would free up some copper for other uses because the threat of a shortage is real.

Nice looking Sac dollar. They do not age well in circulation, so that is a great one for the album. Cheers, RickO
