Fake 3 leg Buffalo EBay

I notified the seller that his coin was fake and his reply was that because his description state that he doesn’t know and it could be fake that it’s okay. Unbelievable.
Update…..coin has been removed.

Yep fake, but it looks like it was ended.
You have to love the plausible deniability BS that some sellers are willing to list in order to make a few bucks. From the original listing-
"READ DISCRIPTION 1937-D 5C 3 Legs Buffalo Nickel. READ DISCRIPTION NO REFUNDS
UNCERTIFIED UNCERTIFIED UNCERTIFIED
what we have here is what is POSSIBLY a real 3 legged buffalo. Use your own discretion. WILL NOT REFUND IF YOU CAN DETERMINE ITS A REPRODUCTION.
I MYSELF DO NOT HAVE THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO DETERMINE IF ITS REAL OR NOT."
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
It's a fake, but it's a pretty darn good fake.
One tip off is E PLURIBUS UNUM is too close to Black Diamond. That area was heavily re-worked. the Buffalo being shrunk and leaving more of a space between the two on genuine coins.

Sorry, Pete but I think it’s a poor copy.

You're probably correct, Mark. That would be why some of the tip offs are missing.
But I still believe that, at least to me, that E PLURIBUS UNUM is too close on that coin.
Pete
not sure what coin you all are looking at but the one that the OP is talking about (i presume) is not the one the link directly takes me to. i have to click a separate listing at the top. (an ebay coding thing, i think)
edited to add: thanks for the link mark. i skipped right over it in your post.
Listing is still active.... Not sure why some say ended... link is live. Cheers, RickO
I'm no expert on counterfeits, but that's a pretty poor example IMHO. There is no die crack under the sheath.
Please excuse my language, but I was always told if the Buffalo ain't pi$$in' the leg ain't missin'.
you gotta use FELD's link.
The original link takes you to a different example that’s genuine and being offered by a different seller.

It will be relisted, the seller sold one earlier this month.

There just seems to be no end to the fake 37d 3 leggers out there in the wild
good grief!
a.k.a "The BUFFINATOR"
Here is one I bought in a collection yesterday, in fact, guy apparently had bought a lot of altered, fakes, copies to fill holes, 1921 Peace, 1921 SLQ, 09s vdb etc. I had to check each and every key date in the various albums to make sure i didint miss anything.
