CRH'ing: A Different and Surprising Score Today!

OAKSTAROAKSTAR Posts: 7,724 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've hit many banks over the years. This morning was a bit different and surprising. I walked in and asked the guy teller if he had any dollar coins he wanted the get rid of. He said he didn't, then looked to the female teller to his right. She overhear me asking for the dollars. She held these up and said a customer had just brought them in. You can have these, she said. My eyes lit up! I have never received coins in plastic tubes from a bank before. Have any of you guys?

My first thought; was it a collector or a collection?? It didn't make much sense. But the coins were mine. 4 rolls but only a total of $93.00.

I didn't have my glasses, so I didn't know what I had until I got home. They were all 2000-P Sacagawea's, in various stages of AU and mint state condition. Bottom-line: I pulled these 3 speared eagle from the 93 coins. They were just mixed in. The person or collector obviously didn't know what they had and just cashed the rolls in for face value.

You just never know.

    Wow!
Nice score. I had one I found in January, by CRHunting, as well. Then, in August. When the big ANA Show was here in Rosemont, IL.
I end up selling it for $125!
    Awesome variety.
Good Luck, in whatever you decide to do with your 3.

So if I tell you, you'll start looking for them. Which means there could be less for us. 😂 🤣 But that's why we share the knowledge here. Remember, if you find one post it here. 👍🏻 👍🏻

Wow Thanks. Now I wish I would have kept the ones I was holding. I always wondered how many varieties may have passed through my hands. I am new to this and have a lot to learn.
    Thanks,

How often do you or have you ever gotten rolls like these from banks?

I occasionally have gotten a few older presidential rolls, but nothing that is NIFC or any Innovation dollars.

Just to add a note, NGC calls them "Speared Eagle". ANACS and PCGS calls them "Wounded Eagle".
