You might notice some slight twisting and bending of your coin rolls...

KurisuKurisu Posts: 2,024 ✭✭✭✭✭

Because they were sent across the country like this...

How they all didn't entirely come apart was clearly an act of God.
3 rolls are unopened obw, 3 have clearly been opened at some point in the past...they came from a non-collector so I HAD (maybe even still have) high hopes!

The good news is I was properly compensated, the bad news is...well, you know lol.
Wish me luck and fun anyway!

So you're saying those rolls were sent lose in the envelope like that?

In that case, I believe you're lucky to have received them at all. Best of luck with the searching!

Ya it is lucky they made it. Good luck searching. I only have one question. Doesn't look like any coins were damaged so why would you ask for compensation if you're just going to tear them open anyway?

I wonder how much truly unpicked stuff there is left in the world. It can’t be much.

Of course I have no idea what the rolls had been through before this, but they were intact tight rolls.
Not that there's a huge chance of 67s or 68s in there but yes, basically dropping rolls on the ground and on top of each other most certainly causes some additional wear and damage to some coins.

...I was compensated because what arrived was not at all what I ordered.

There's probably more than you think. I've got about 150 rolls of uncirculated 1960 P & D Lincolns that have never been searched. As well, I bought and sold a lot of around 1000 (I think) rolls of unsearched for varieties wheat cents that were pulled out of circulation in the late 50s/early 60s a number of years ago.

    And that's just me.

Not to be picky as I guess the seller agreed to compensate you, but not sure how there's proof that they were dropped on the floor. Guess usps might vetify that. I'm just not quite that picky I guess. I know as a seller, I would be blocking a buyer. But that's me.

Well they were sent in an unpadded envelope with plenty of room to move around, and then they traveled across the country...also, they looked NOTHING like the original seller's photos when they arrived. You can probably tell this without even seeing the original seller's pics lol.
Whether they were actually dropped or not is totally irrelevant. They've been destroyed...just short of actually being loose change when they arrived lol.
