Holy crap! Fantastic find!
Coin Photographer.
Nice key date. Not crazy about the uneven toning. "From the wild"...as in found in circulation?

Nice example, very decent head. Way to go.
Photos of any others? Must have been exciting to go through an old album.
Wow...nice find. For what it's worth I love the toning....

Tunnel vision stuck with "from the wild"

Congratulations on a great find. Sometimes the old albums have a treasure in them.... You found one. Cheers, RickO
Great find! I can only hope sometime soon to own one of these rarities. It’s a beauty- congrats.
I like the Trueview better than mine!!
Awesome coin!

I always thought "from the wild" meant found in circulation.

It does, to many, if not most hobbyists. However, some use it to indicate that the coin was previously ungraded.

Yeah, can't wait to see the other coins.......there are other coins, right?

There are others - regular submission - takes a bit longer.
Very nice!
Great find, rare, nice grade, like the original tone, but I'm trying to decide whether that is textile toning or fingermarks on the reverse...
RIP Mom- 1932-2012
I think the former is far less likely than the latter.

Don't know what to say. Unbelieveable. I'll bet the family was proud of that collection. Congrats on the grade, also. Wow.

:)Nice coin. Was expecting a dateless junk silver find, that turned out to be a 1916,instead of 17.
Oh You Suck!!!
Nice Coin Congrats!!
Wow!!!!

Whoa and the others. 👀👀👀
"It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
This coin is the reason my submission is seemingly slow to be graded. They took this quarter out of the package and the whole grading team spent 6 weeks gawking at it.
Well done.
My question is, would that coin benefit with a spritz (and thorough rinse) to clear up the uneven and black toning and (likely) album residue on the reverse before it gets into plastic?
I wouldn’t touch it. Sure, the coin could be more attractive, but I love its originality and am confident that many others do, as well.

From thread title, I thought I would open this to find out you got it in change at WaWa. 😆

I love the toning! Where did the album come from?

Just an old time collection hidden away in a safebox.
I personally would love the coin with that toning. I do not understand the love of bright white coins. I need a little character and life lived in my coins.
Wow! She was well cared for, feed and tucked away in a nice warn comfortable place for years. Congrats!

That’s awesome! Got any group pics of all the coins in the album as found?
There are still a lot of very nice raw coins out there.
It is unbelievably amazing the coins that are out there that haven't seen the light of day for years upon years.

I came across an old time collection in the last year and a half that landed a few one of a kind coins.....I know the feeling, but not like this big coin.

I ran the last two pics through my PE and your coin shows a bit more luster.
