I had a small pile of bags used for the state and national parks quarters and I was looking for something creative to do with them.
I sent one to "Zippy the Pinhead" cartoonist Bill Griffith and asked him to add a sketch to it. I had him him draw on the back of it in the upside down position since I plan to make a stand that will extend inside it, so it can be displayed.
(Don't worry if the project doesn't make sense - it wasn't supposed to. ).

I'm pretty certain that the counterstamped ones were done locally by the individual posts. So, there would have been no shipments of bags of them.
I no longer have the bags but I have these tags that were sewed onto them.
