A little Overton help needed- 1827 O-124 vs. O-124a

Can someone tell me the difference between the Sq. Base 2, 1827 Overton 124 vs. the 124a. I don’t have the Overton book and can’t figure it out! The CoinFacts pics look alike to me!

maibockaddict is a nice resource.
The reference that lancenewman mentioned in is the Resources thread pinned to the top of the US Forum. Go down to the 50C section and it is the first reference.
That reference is almost identical to my older 3rd edition Overton. The reverses are the same between 124 and 124a. The obverse difference is noted to be that the stars are drawn solidly to the edge and no milling remains.

124 will show some milling (denticles) on the obverse, whereas 124a has no visible milling. The obv milling on the early die state tends to appear on the lower half of the coin, probably from die misalignment. The reverse is unchanged.
124a = obverse milling is absent
124 = milling at lower half of obverse is present
Thanks Guys! That is so helpful!
I don’t believe they differentiate between 124 and 124a anymore.
