NOW......I have a great Harmon family/my family story...... The Marine Corps in involved!
Here we go..... Sometime shortly after WWII my uncle who was active duty USMC attended a Hollywood Stars baseball game. His wife and my mother were also with him. Tom Harmon, Mark Harmon's father who was a very famous college football player and celebrity, was also at the game. At some point the two of them got into an argument because my uncle accused Tom Harmon of being a fake soldier during the war.....that he didn't deserve the decorations that he received!....Well,......it escalated!..... A fist fight!.....Uncle Bob ended up in jail......Alcohol was DEFINITELY involved!... It was in the Los Angeles Times newspaper!.....The family never let Uncle Bob forget about it! A real hoot!

In 1945 Tom Harmon was playing football....
While Uncle Bob was on Iwo Jima....
He was my Hero......In my eyes he could do no wrong!
