Help with value of these OGH Rattlers

2windy2fish2windy2fish Posts: 835 ✭✭✭✭✭

All,
I would like to know what these should sell for. I understand the coins themselves are pedestrian…

Fairly certain they should sell together as they are consecutive numbers.
Also, Gen 1.2?

I believe the generation that is valuable all start with 108 cert numbers, the typeface of the 5 is different and they have white inserts without ribs. As such, perhaps someone would pay extra for the consecutive cert numbers, but I am not certain how much the lower cert number might generate.

1.2's. Lower serial numbers, but no real premium. Maybe $100 for the pair if sold together, $150 on the high end. If they're nice, reflective, hairline free and spot free, I would consider sending to CAC. Green stickers will lose you money, gold will make you a pile. Good chance they're gold if they match the above conditions.

Both type 2s. That would have been your money maker. Rattlers might help the speed of your sell and certainly could gain from the rattler/gold CAC combo.

I agree completely with DD. CAC is currently only taking "regular" submissions that should cost $25 each (as I recall) If they receive a gold bean you're way ahead of the game. Green beans won't get you much on these. It's a gamble I'd make but polish up the slabs with plastic cleaner first.

I think at this time you have to use Tier 2, which is $35 per coin, to submit to CAC.

No idea about the holders but really nice quality pictures!

There IS a premium. Those two slabs look like they're in pristine condition- no sticker residue, and the insert color is bright.
These are usually banged up, and yours are not, so that is worth extra.
The fact they are sequential is a plus too.
Couple all that with the coins being nice and matching well, and the overall presentation is positive and worth a premium.
I'd think $150. for the pair is a fair price.

$57 per PCGS Cert Verify. I would start at that on eBay c if they bid them up if not sending in.

Otherwise I would Send in to our hosts if I think they have chance at higher grade.

Thanks all for the info, i believe i will take a chance and send to CAC, the coins are very nice and spot free and the holders are very nice as well...
A little bit of a gamble but i allow myself to take a chance once in a while and justify it as my "Gambling" as i refuse to throw away money in my local Casinos!
