Does this looked cleaned to you?

I sent this one to our hosts a while back. I don't know what to think of the cleaned designation... AU Details.

market acceptable !
Ya they are. I see some hair lines on the rev just above the 3 ones. They may have seen that.
Hoard the keys.
Obverse has been cleaned but the entire coin has been retoned from a bottle imo. Evidence- look at the spot they missed near the rim at roughly 3:00 on the reverse.

I will say cleaned.... signs around the letters..... Cheers, RickO
If it is not hairlined (I cannot see any hairlines), I think it should grade somewhere.
Tom
That looks like a layer of toning that has chipped off the coin, rather than some toning agent that wasn't applies to that location on the coin.
I guess this is just one of those instances where I disagree with PCGS.
It's easy on the internet to defend "how they may have determined cleaning" but it's completely market acceptable to my eyes... lightly AU, there is no dirt or gunk to see hidden in protected areas, absolutely no hairlines anywhere, decent luster and legitimate toning in my opinion.
I will not send it back in, they got my money on this one and I got their 6 second opinion...

Details: Scratched.
Yes it does. Lightly.
Rim dings on the reverse?
Yes, cleaned for sure.
Yes - Cleaned.
This is the kind of coin where true views can easily point the piece in a great light when it has an issue. Without seeing the coin in hand I can’t venture a real opinion. Being told it’s cleaned, I can see what I’d look at first in hand and justify it. If you told me it straight graded, I’d be able to justify that, too. A coin like this needs to be seen in hand. For what it’s worth, there are coins that I can photograph very similarly which are very harshly cleaned. Just a question of lighting.
It is a decent coin but the photos do look as though the coin was cleaned to most of us. It's at may worth considering that PCGS may be correct. As the saying goes, ownership always adds 2 points.
