Have always loved the trade dollar ever since laying my eyes on them the very first time.
After completing the Dansco #6172, wanted to dabble in the proofs and started off collecting whatever I could find on a tight budget with the 1884 & 1885 remaining a dream.

very nice, I really like the blues on the 1874.
That 1876 is the transtitional die (also used to strike for circulation), as you probably already know. Type I obverse hubbing but with the added finger that was later used in the Type II obverse design.
Very nice set!
Pretty great, congratulations on a really really nice set!!!

I love them all but the '75 is stunning!

Nice trade set! I just picked up my first trade dollar yesterday... They are such a sadly short lived series, and yet you have managed to get almost all of them! Impressive!

Very nice.
Hoard the keys.

Wow!! Well done!! Great set of Trade Dollars. Thanks for showing us. Cheers, RickO
Thank you. I think it has further turned inside the slab.
Thank you.
I feel it is undergraded. Incidentally all of the 11 proof Trade dollars in that Collection were acquired in 1944 for $120 and remained intact until 2002 before being broken apart.

Thank you.
Was really hoping for it to be a Type II/II but the scroll with the word "Liberty" is not pointing down.
Thank you.
The 79 has the CAC green bean

The 1884 and 1885 will always remain a dream
Thank you.
It was real fun.

Thank you.
You are an inspiration.
Started with a much lower grades of the 1880 and 1881 when a member from another forum adviced me to scout around for higher grades that were only marginally more than what I was already paying.
Took a while but am glad it worked out.

Thank you.
I had already completed the circulated set in a Dansco and was thinking of going down the path of assembling a "chopmarked" set.
But for some reason it did not pan out much because the ones available either looked fake or did not catch my fancy.

Thank you.
Your thread https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1082418/nice-little-surprise-1873-cc-trade-dollar-fs-301-mpd made me look up the archive pics of my coins and that led to this thread being opened.
Now am feeling motivated to take it all out of the safe box and have a much closer look in person.
Cheers.

11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
Back in the early 1970's I owned a very nice 1882 Trade Dollar in Proof. Wish that I had it now.
Just a little over two decades prior in 1946, some of the trade dollars were worth way less than face value as per the blue book.

Great coins Buddy. I am a huge Trade Dollar fan, and they are tough to find these days with great eye appeal, graded properly, without issues, etc. Very tough in fact.
A very nice set, congratulations!

Holy cannoli. The '73 is gorgeous and the '82 has sensational detail. WTG!
"Brother, can you spare a dime?" (Especially a 1975 no S proof?)
The Details on the Proof Trade Dollars are Amazing,... Congrats on putting these together! I really like the 2 circulated proofs in old PCGS plastic
It's all about what the people want...
Thank you all.
Absolutely had a blast putting them together.
Since this a two year old post that got resurrected, don't want to start a new one
I welcome you all to guess the grades on here.
Cheers.
