@joeykoins by the edge it does
Look silver. But if I’m not mistaken the silver clad coins were made in San Francisco. Both proof and circ?

  • good luck wasting a nice weekend on looking for coins instead of sitting down and enjoying an nice sunset, if you need me i will be in my living room playing video games, drinking hot chocolate , listening to classical music and knowing that I have zero worries at all (besides literally everything that is going on right now).

Philadelphia didn't make 40% silver halves in 1976. The coin is plated and the weight will give it away (a plated clad coin weighs the same as a clad coin). ;)

@joeykoins make sure it’s not a silver planchette. I saw recently a quarter form
The 1970’s was struck on a gold coin from the 1800’s.
You never know a silver planchette from the early 60’s is more likely than that quarter. 😀

Went to Chase just now and Loomis happened to be there too.
Asked if a box was available, got a sealed box

Any time I unveil coins in the car I call it 'doing a Joey'

Not sure what a "silver planchette" is, but a silver planchet ;) would be highly unlikely. That quarter struck over a gold coin was a bit of midnight shenanigans that reportedly came from a specific known hoard.

The photos of Joey's half might not accurately show the true color, but it doesn't look to me to be silver and the edge doesn't show the clad of a 40% silver coin. 90% was too far in the past to be a reasonable possibility.

    The dots represent possibilities?
