Top XXX Error Coin (?) and Other Items
Last week, I left a message regarding the expectations regarding selling coins to a dealer vs going the auction route. Okay, the reference regarding eclectic was a vague but the reason for the comment is that the collection to be dispositioned is an Error collection. Coins range from very valuable to low value (with many being in the $300 to $500 range. The reason for the question is looking out for the owner, how to maximize value on his behalf.
Over the last year, I've shared images of several of the coins. (Please do a search on my prior discussions the last 18 months). This is the last posting I will do regarding this collection, but happy to answer any follow up questions I can.
Comments welcome and appreciate thoughts on dealer vs auction route. There are roughly 150 coins that were certified from raw.

Let's start with the big coin....possibly a Top XXX Error (I'll defer to the experts).
This is another interesting one (but nowhere near the coin above).
Another one is is sort of cool (although hard to see)
The remaining coins are more typical....

I would imagine that someone might be able to determine the die marriage of the DB dollar and, as such, give it a date. That, and the Peace dollar, are wild, wild, wild and I would love to own them just as scores of others would!

That is an amazing off-center Bust Dollar. I used to own it and it is plated in my book.
Seems to me these are very auction worthy.
I would contact Ian at GreatCollections. Speak to him at no cost to you, and have some info regardless. Others here may or may not be interested and I hope they do speak up to you. That collection should not be hard to sell, IMO.

Very nice error coins indeed. I thought the error coins you posted during the year were yours. Many nice errors.
That 15% off center Draped bust will bring a lot at auction. I would guess around 50K maybe more.

Do you want to laugh? I’m not an error collector, but was curious reading the title of this post that the mods would allow something rated XXX on this forum, so I just had to look, perhaps expecting something like a numismatic Playboy centerfold (or something of that nature), lol.
My collecting “Pride & Joy” is my PCGS Registry Dansco 7070 Set:

@keoj Thank you for helping us see them. I understand your wariness now.
Interesting errors and should do well at auction. As suggested above, consult Ian at GC.. Cheers, RickO
Thanks everyone for comments and suggestions. I'll let you know what vehicle I used to sell (Dealer of auction)
Hi Joe,
Is this the guy with the reverse cud 1920 Buffalo? Has he done anything with it?

I would be interested in the $300 -$500 price range you mention.
Good luck on your decision.
