The mint uses the single squeeze method and any "doubling" is due to a different mechanism than the traditional means that produced coins like the 1955 and 1972 doubled die. This Class IX doubling is a lot more like mechanical doubling rather than a misalignment of the hub and working die during a second press.
That could be the reason, along with most are minor, that Class IX doesn't get much of a following
