RIP David. I didn't know him well, but I've talked to him at some shows and he always seemed to be friendly and engaging with collectors well. Not to mention all those books that have his name in the credits. It's a big loss. I really like the coin album tribute on the Coin week Tribute too.
I pulled David's Mercury Dimes book off my shelf yesterday for the first time in years, and was captivated anew. It's rich with detail, and I do remember seeing an article from him on coin boards and my impression that somebody young was investigating them. I'm so sorry to hear this news.

What a shame, met him once and he seemed to know everything about everything. Still referencing his books daily.
60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
