Why doesn't this Gold Shield PCGS coin have a Gold Shield?

It has a Gold Shield on the back of the slab, and it has a TrueView yet the label on the front has no Gold Shield.
Why?

I have a couple like that. I think there are two likely reasons.

The ones I have are slightly older holders (late 2000s-ish?) and so they may have still been having labelling issues as they transitioned to the Gold Shield Labels.

Or they sent the coin in for imaging in the slab. EDIT - but not reholder, image only. I'm not sure if they still do this without cracking out but I think they used to?!?

    Or I'm wrong:)

PCGS GEN 6.1 (NOT "Gold Shield") and GEN 6.1S ("Gold Shield") both have a 'shield' on the back of the label. So, the presence of the 'shield' on the back of the label does not signify "Gold Shield".

The subject coin does not appear to be in a GEN 6.1 holder. (No NFC symbol in the plastic of the holder, or printed on the label reverse.) The QR code on the label reverse suggests GEN 6.0. However, other elements of the label reverse suggest GEN 6.1 (e.g., the 'shield').

Assuming that it is legit, and I am NOT saying this it isn't, perhaps it was slabbed around the time of the transition from GEN 6.0 to GEN 6.1, and the label reverse ended-up being a hybrid of the two.

To corroborate what @MetroD said, if you lookup the cert# of the coin in question on CoinFacts, it comes up as a Standard holder, not a Gold Shield.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

I do not believe that’s what happened here, but PCGS will still image a coin through the slab. It costs $5 (plus all the associated handling and processing charges). This is as per their rep at the most recent summer FUN show.

They started that shield on the back of the ticket on all slabs in 2019, gold shield or not.

That is when the ones I got were done. They were sent in Regular grading (raw coins).
Here is one of them from other thread (don't have the front of holder but can get it if needed) and is not gold shield on front.

    Ok, good lessons here.
I've always been under the impression TrueViews were Gold Shield coins.

This piqued my interest and I did find another:

This has a true view: it’s a c.2008-10 era holder:

"TrueView" images are currently included at no additional charge on "Gold Shield" submissions.

On "standard" submissions, "TrueView" images can currently be 'added-on' for $5.00 per coin.
