A Surprise from My Bank... Good or Bad? UPDATE: This week I got more!

Got my weekly four boxes yesterday from my bank. The first box was the normal mix but the next three? All 2021-P. Any suggestions as to what to do with these? Anyone need any?

It's so odd the Mint made these, "Non- NIFC's?"

First year since 2001.
Quite odd?
Sure, they're NOT NIFC, C for circulation!
"NOW, they ARE Intended For Circulation".
Now they are called this.
AIFC.
"ARE" Intended For Circulation.
They're set free to the public. Why now?

That's why I don't do roll hunting....no way to dispose, other than spending.

PS: my bank won't even take rolls in quantity. They will accommodate a few here and there but do not like it at all.
Slab the best one?

Halloween’s coming up and with inflation a half dollar is a very nice treat.
Just how do you dispose of the half dollars once you have looked through them?
I have a dump bank with a Coinstar so it costs nothing.
there is a special at pcgs right now for bulk lots of only 20 coins instead of 100 as perusual, so if you think you can grade 67s (top pops) (also look up sales results) you can try your hat at that and wait a few /several months for the results or you could do the same at ngc but probably send off a lot more. maybe they are doing 67+s or 68?
singles raw, don't seem as they would be worth it as it'd probably take forever to move em? perhaps P & D lots?
i didn't see any regular sales for these in those types of rolls but if they were in date rolls, you'd be golden.
if you aren't hard-pressed to move one of the boxes, you could TRY an ebay lot of a full box at say, $15-20 per roll
try a $500 box in the $7-900 range. you can flat-rate them although, keep an eye out for shipping across the country if you don't do flat-rate as the prices for distances have REALLY gone up.
if the box is over 20lbs, doing cubic-rate won't help, probably better with UPS but USPS flat-rate is probably the best bet. medium square box flat-rate.
Why does the US Mint then sell rolls and bags at a premium if they are releasing them into circulation.
Happy hunting 🙂
Because that is a sure way to obtain them. Many collectors don't have good sources for the new issues locally.
Here's a good way to be able to make sure they're sourced locally, put ALL of the 2021 and 2022 Halves in circulation and withdraw the rest including silver issues.
The coin machine at my credit union takes them

Not really. The Mint's customer, the Fed, ordered them as it has for the past couple years.

Spend them if you can. I'm sure the recipient won't be very happy if you are buying anything north of $3-$4. RGDS!
if you decide to just dump them, make sure to crack several rolls in case there is some error or super rare variety as if you find one of something, you'll probably find more.
PM sent!
To make more money out of the money they are making.
I don't need any, but you could try eBaying them in multiple roll lots or single roll lots.
Wow.... That is a huge amount of half dollars.... Might be a couple of high grade coins in the 2021's.... Worth checking for them... Cheers, RickO
PCGS has a quarterly special with bulk submission for moderns = pick out the 20 best for submission.
I had no problem dispersing them in the $3-$4 range for purchases.
What does the roll label look like? Is that a Loomis or Mint Label??
Loomis.
Are you kidding?? I cannot believe it. Went to Bank of America last week and asked for just 1 roll and was told no.

News flash: just opened my four boxes for this week and guess what? ALL are 2021-P!
WOW that is hard core!
another idea. if you start an ebay listing withe either singles or a p & d lot of 2 coins and have ya know hundreds listed but you get a few people here to just buy 1-2 lots but refund their money, it will get the listing started as whenever a multi-quantity listing starts getting sales, provided people are interested, it sure seems to take off from there.
i'd even make a few listings 2 coins, 5 coins, 10 coins etc. to cast a wide net unless you wanna sit on all of them for a long time.
put up a listing for a full box with about 3 avail for $1k. that puts them at $1 to 1.50 each and because of quantity, will be more than financially worth the effort BUT keep the cost down to entice a buyer(s).
put a notation in the listing that there are several available.
if that guy with like 10,000 mint bags can move those, you can do this!
A lot of banks don't stock half dollars. You have to order them or hope someone brings them in.
If you start an ebay listing withe either singles or a p & d lot of 2 coins
But he only has 21 P...no D. Has to sell as singles or rolls.
