Let's get this fight started >:)

Pyrite is a semiconductor; that is, it is neither a conductor like metal nor an insulator like most rocks. Semiconductors such as pyrite can switch between being a good conductor or insulator under the effects of electric fields or light, or by doping the material with traces of impurities

We have what we refer to as HOT rocks.
That's anything that sets off a metal detector.
Hot rocks may or may not have metal content but have enough minerals to get a hit.

I hate hot rocks when metal detecting.

    Waste of so much time.
