One 1893S $1, Two Sellers....?

Same coin, same PCGS cert number. Two listings, two sellers. Sellers don't seem to be affiliated. From two different states and names in no way similar. Which one do you think actually has the coin? Neither?

Neither.

The first one is likely the fake seller in my opinion, because those photos could have easily been pulled from some online source, the other seller seems to have in hand photos of it...

@Cladiator , I can say with almost complete certainty that Ken of Coast Coin (your first listing) has that coin in hand. They are a VERY reputable firm, and I have bought about a dozen or more coins from them over the years, with never a problem. I have also returned a coin once, also with no problem.
As noted, if the coin appears on his actual website, he has the coin. Once sold, it’s automatically removed from his website, and I believe it’s then removed from his eBay listing relatively quickly.

If Coastcoin lists it, it's in their possession. I have bought a few coins from them (although not a lot because they are usually max retail) but every coin from $300 to $1500 that I bought has been delivered to me within 3 days. They might be expensive but they are NOT liars or cheaters.
If that's the case they should contact eBay and get that second listing taken down.
Yes, they should, BUT……

I sent them the link so hopefully they'll be aware of it.
That’s good! Be aware they won’t be in until Monday (Columbus Day).

It’s possible that they have allowed the other seller to list their coins for sale. But even if that’s not the case in this instance, I know of other dealers who have had such arrangements with each other.

I guess it's coastcoin as the other was removed.
So what happens to the other “seller” in cases like this? Does eBay put them in the box for a while?
I am curious about the removal of the possible fake listing. It is gone now, but why? It could have been listed with agreement from Coast Coin.... Probably never find out though. Cheers, RickO

Nah.... they turn a blind eye.

Coast Coin emailed me back and they said not to buy it if it's a scam and there's nothing they can do about it.
It wouldn't be the first time a person advertised a coin they don't own, hoping that if they "sell" it, they can quickly acquire the item from the true owner in time to satisfy "their" customer.
