Incredible Complete Late Date Set Of Gold CAC Mercury Dimes On GC

Interesting to see on GC almost a full set of gold sticker Mercury Dimes from 1937-1945 some with duplicate dates. Impressive someone put this together with all rattler and OGH coins. Do you think this will depress the market of gold sticker Mercury Dimes? Will someone try to buy all these coins to have a set. Your thoughts?
A glimpse of some of the coins.

If they were my coins I wouldn’t be selling them together at once.
Yes, they are cool and the old holders add even more to the mystique.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

No the market won't be depressed because somebody is selling a few.

I don’t know if you consider 38 a few?
It seems gold CAC late date Mercs are always available in the market.
Where’s the CAC sticker?

None on that one, just a regular CAC sticker mixed in with the gold sticker run.
Yeah, the sale of everything as one lot is dumb. Ian didn't do this consignor any favors.
That is a really nice group of Mercs.... Primo luster. Cheers, RickO
The consignor also has a responsibility to do what they think is best for themselves. When I’ve previously sold similar coins on GC I’ve spread them out.
It's not one lot????
I myself have probably made at least 25 gold CAC mercs, so with mercury dimes, yeah 38 is a few. Go look up their pops in gold CAC.

It doesn’t matter how many you have made or even how many exist, 38 is far more than a “few”. “Several” is more than a “few” and a dozen is more than a “few”. Being more than three dozen, 38 is more than a “few”.😉

But it's less than a gross...
It's not one lot. And to the contrary, as they're all finishing at about the same time, all buyers of old plastic with gold stickers that might want them on a run of Mercury dimes will make it a point to be online when they go off.

Agreed. If there were 38 of one date, it might be a problem. It is far better to group like items in a single auction than randomly throw one in here or there.
So is it a few dozen or several dozen?

A few, as a “few” is more than two and less than several.

My perception is there appears to be insatiable demand for gold stickered coins in affordable grades/dates. So I do not think the quantities matter, the eyeballs will be there, dealers and collectors.
Collectors want slabs with gold stickers on them, and they continue to sell for higher prices.
You're just nitpicking now, Mark. The point is the market can EASILY absorb 38 gold CAC Mercury dimes, especially right now given... Stuff going on. There's almost 1k gold CAC Mercs out there. Compare that to a series like Washington quarters with 162 or Walkers with 395... 38 is a lot in a vacuum but relative to supply and demand, it just isn't that much.

Call it nitpicking if you wish, but to state that 38 is a “few”, is highly inaccurate, regardless of demand. On the other hand, the rest of your above post, which addresses supply and demand, is much more informative and accurate. It’s good stuff.
